Corrections and re-grades
A documented request from a verifiable dealer is the fastest route to a change. A legal threat with no documents attached is the slowest.
01We would rather be corrected than be wrong
Reports are built from buyer accounts and open-source records, and both can be incomplete or wrong. Naming a legitimate dealership as fraudulent does real damage to a real business, so where a report contains an error it gets corrected. There is no fee, no form to purchase, and no reputation-management upsell attached to any of this.
Anyone contacting you offering to have a report removed in exchange for payment is not us, and is running a scam of exactly the kind this site documents.
02Who can request a change
- An owner or authorised officer of a business named in a report, writing from an email address on the domain in question.
- A buyer who filed a report and wants their own name, initials, or details amended or withdrawn.
- Anyone who can identify a specific factual statement in a report that is demonstrably wrong.
03What to send
Documents may be redacted for privacy so long as the redaction does not obscure the point being proven. We neither require nor want anyone's customer payment details.
- The exact URL of the report, and a direct quote of each statement you say is inaccurate.
- What the accurate statement is, and the document that establishes it.
- State business registration or incorporation filings for the state the dealership claims to operate from, matching the name on the disputed invoices or payment instructions.
- A dealer licence, DOT, MC, or EIN number that can be confirmed independently in the issuing body's own register.
- Photographs or records establishing the yard or premises at the address published on your site.
- For a disputed transaction: proof of delivery, a signed bill of sale, a bill of lading, or a settled refund.
- For a disputed detail: evidence that the bank beneficiary, phone number, or escrow company is not associated with your business.
04How the request is handled
We re-run the original verification against your documentation, re-check the registers and the history of the details published, and where relevant contact the buyer to confirm the current state of their transaction. Every request is acknowledged, and documented requests are resolved without unnecessary delay.
There are four possible outcomes: the report is corrected and a dated correction note is appended; the verdict is lowered, including to Cleared where the evidence supports it; the report is withdrawn in full, with a note left where it was previously indexed; or the report stands, in which case we set out which evidence we relied on and why.
05Right of reply
Any business named in a report may submit a concise written response, and it will be published on the report itself alongside our findings even where we disagree with it. This is the fastest available route to putting your account in front of the same readers who are searching your name.
06What will not be withdrawn
- Accurately reported, documented losses, on the grounds that they are commercially inconvenient.
- Domain registration, hosting, or certificate history, or the demonstrable origin of machine photographs used on a site.
- A report where the only argument offered is a legal threat unaccompanied by documentation.
- A report about a domain that has since changed hands, though a dated note making the change of operator explicit will be added.
07Legal notices
Formal notices, including copyright complaints concerning material reproduced in a report, should be sent to corrections@equipmentscamreport.com with enough specificity to identify the material at issue. Every notice is assessed on its merits and answered substantively rather than reflexively.
Send correction requests to corrections@equipmentscamreport.com with the report URL in the subject line.
